Murphy of 145 Main street, who died Tuesday after a long illness, were held from his home at 9 AM. this morning with a solemn high mass of requiem at St. John the Evangelist Church at 10.Mr. Murphy, huMiand of the late Julia (nee Callahan) Murphy, was a' Winthrop resident for more than 45 years and was retired from the Mass. Public Works Department. He was a former member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and Pleasant Park Yacht Club, having resigned due to his illness.He leaves four daughters, Miss Mae Murphy, Mrs. Margaret E. Tate, and Mrs. Wilfred Merrier, all of Winthrop, and Mrs. Edward F. Mahoney of Woburn; and ten Igrandchildren. IInterment was in Holy Cross Icemetery.
