Uncle Nell was still among the living. In 1906 the county seat was ordered moved to Collins, this order being sanctioned by the electors of the county, and ordered the present handsome $75,000 building erected. This building is now nearing completion. and Nell Mathlaou, will doubtless live to see It completed. He Ib uncle of J. T. Mathlaon. the present chancery clerk, and has not only outlived the three court houses, but has outlived the old historic county seat of Williamsburg created In 1819. and still lives to recognize Collins as the county seat, and Instead of looking upon the $3,000 buildings heretofore erected for a temple of Justice, Is able to look upon the preseut handsome structure with the same pride as the younger citizens. He Is one of the few whose age Is closing In on one hundred years, and Is still able to transact business, and can even read without the aid of glasses. He still lives—Williamsburg does not. After serving its people for 88 years. It was suddenly cut down by the presentprogressive age. The county seat Is gone, the |»08tofrice has gone and given away for the rural route. The name is now obsolete, and time in Its flight, decrees that the ground on which it stood must be sold under the hammer. It has served Its purpose, and memories will forever around it hang.
