Sramry's Hosprtst (DacaDNovGHT).—The quar terly court of the governors of this institution, which affords relief not only to British, but to the seamen of all nations, without any other recommendation than the fact of their airing medical aid, was held on Friday at the offices of the hospital, King William-street, under the presidency of Mr. T. H. Brooking. It was stated that the number of patients admitted from the 30th of June to the 30th of September was 9 from her Majesty's ships and 471 from British and foreign merchant vessels, which, with those remaining in the hospital after the 30th of June, made a total of 606 British and foreign seamen who had received medical assistance on board the Dreadnought during the last three months. The number of out-patients who had received aid from the hospital during the quarter was 336. There were on board at present 136 sick, and 6 convalescent, and 476 had been dis charged since the 30th of June. The accounts showed an excess of expenditure over income of 4067. An opinion was expressed that the benefits conferred by a charity of such importance to a maritime country should not be limited for want of a small addition to its funds, and it was hoped that the public would extend to it a more liberal support, with the view of rescuing it from its present position. EMBEZZLEMENT BY THE SECRETARY OF 4 BENEFIT Society.—A reward of 601. has been offered for the appre hension of a man named James Charles Lockett, who has absconded from Branchester with 1400/., the property of the Bricklayers’ Sick and Burial Society, of which he was the secretary. It is about a month since he took flight, but con trived to avoid suspicion by getting 10 days’ leave of ab sence for a pleasure trip. As he did not return, and was some time overdue, the officers of the society made some inquiry at the Bank of Manchester to see if the frnds were all right. It was found that he had not deposited a sum of 4002, which had come into his possession. There had also been handed to him (great confidence being placed in him), a few months since, 10002, of the society’s funds to be in vested in Consis, in his own name, in trust, but it appears that he had since sold out, and has thus defrauded the society of 14002. He is about 45 years of age, five feet six inches, hich, stout make, awarthy complexion, Wit dark brown hair and whiskers, - .
