by Grant Burr HE Steinbach Arts Council Uhinme to its Young Artists in Concert series next Fri day night with Blumenort’s Luke Reimer. Reimer, 20, is making a name for himself as a country music artist. In January, Reimer released his debut EP Miles On This Truck. Since 2011, he has performed at prominent events and festivals across the province, including Red River EX, Manitoba Stam pede Exhibition, and Stein bach’s Summer in the City. Reimer will be joined by 16-year-old Alyssa Mercedes, a pop country music songwriter singer from Steinbach. The art council’s young artist in concert series is designed to nur ture and encourage local emerg ing artists as they develop a pro fessional career by giving them the tools, experience and a chance to perform.
