Three children from one family were killed Saturday afternoon when the car in which they were riding was struck by a Union Pacific train on Hwy. 269 near Morton in Woodruff County. The car crossed in front of the train and according to witness, the signal light was working and the train was sounding its horn. In vestigating officer, Trooper Gary Gray, reported that a white Toyota truck had slowed at the crossing to make a left hand turn onto a side road. When the truck left the highway, the car proceeded into the path of the train. There were no skin marks and the engineer of the train said the car never attempted to stop. Lesia Lynn Huddleston, 16 of Rt. 2 Box 30, Moro was the driver of the 1981 Ford Granada and was one of the fatalities. Also killed in the 4:35 p.m. crash were: 8 year old Dale Huddleston, and 12 year old Vivian Huddleston. Mildred Huddleston, 48 and Alan Huddleston ,6 were injured in the accident and taken to the Woodruff Co. Hospital.
