Marionville continued to lead the Midwest Conference grid standings by a half game over Stockton and Greenfield following a 21-0 blanking Friday night over the visiting Miller Cardinals. Meanwhile Stockton pum meled the visiting Lockwood Tigers, 54-14, as Greenfield tur ned back Jasper, 21-7. Sarcoxie’s Bears turned back Pierce City behind Conrad Feather in another loop test, while Golden City bowed to Ash Grove in a nonloop encounter. Springfield Greenwood turned back winless Liberal, 34-0, Wed nesday night. Doug Sunde and David Neill led Stockton’s explosion with two touchdowns apiece while Roger Robison added a TD run and six conversions to the cause. Senior halfback Greg McCord led Marionville with TD runs of 72 and three yards, while Bobby Wright got things going with a one-yard plunge in the opening stanza. Sarcoxie quarterback Feather passed for 45 yards to Vic Kilman in the opening stan za. He then ran in from two yards out in the fourth quarter. The Eagles tallied in the first period on a safety and added six points in the waning seconds of the game on Harold Snowden’s 20-yard run. Greenfield—put their game away early against Jasper with 21 first-half points. Bill An drews and Jim Hail scored from six and five yards away in the first period, while David Mc Neel tallied from 63 yards away just before halftime. Tommy Waggoner hauled in a 23-yard Ken Parsons pass in the four period for Jasper’s score. Par sons added the PAT boot. Fullback Mike Porterfield scored from 19 yards out in the second period for the one tally in the Ash Grove-Golden City contest. Jack Duda’s visiting Eagles penetrated Ash Grove's 10-yard maker twice in the four th period, only to be stopped by stubborn defensive play. Ash Grove now sports a 4-3 season slate.
