P. ticket agent, on account of illness. * Mrs. George Swift left Monday for Buffalo, whence she will go to Denver, Colorado, to spend the winter. Dr. M.C. Follett and Mr. George Fobes left today for a trip through the north west for the benefit of Mr. Fobes’ health. W.C. Albrecht and Miles Cavanaugh are doing a job of plumbing in Geneva which will keep them there a couple of weeks. Miss Belle Colwell, of Portville, left this morning for Harrisville, Michigan, where she will spend the winter with relatives. Mrs. Frank Bartlett gave a delightful tea in honor of Miss Lois Strong and her bridesmaids, on Saturday evening, at her home on Second street. Mr. J. R. Boner has resigned his posi tion with F.C. Mayers Co. to accept the position of car demurrage clerk in the W.N. ¥, aP. freight officé. = ** Mr. W. L. Frazer has resigned his sition with the Pennsylvania Entaries Storage company, and accepted the su perintendency of the Trotter Refrigera tor company. Johnson Steltzer, a prominent business man of Rimersburg, Clarion county, Fla., who has been visiting Frank W. Abrams the past week, returned to his home Tueday, Mr. George Carter may not be sharp enough to catch a weasel asleep, but he caught a live partridge on Barry street yesterday afternoon. He did not use salt. The citizens of Franklinville have of fered $500 reward for the arrest and con viction of the fire bug who has been so peers active in that village of ate. Mr. Leon C. Coudout and Miss Cora L. Smith, both of Driftwood, Pa., were united in marriage by Justice W. D. Parker at the New Palmer house Satur day afternoon. Messrs. It is now stated that the shut down on the L. §. W. railroad is a move made by the stockholders to freeze out the resent receiver, George D. Chapman, and it is said the employes are left in the lurch for six weeks pay. Mr. George Carter will leave tonight for Renova and Easton, Pa., where he is engaged to play at musicales. He will then ge to New York, where he will be joined on the 224 by Mrs. Carter, Miss Mary Caster and Mr. and Mrs. W. Grant Egbert.
