Little i* known of his life, until in 1S59 he went to Utah Terri the command of Gen. Johnson, where remained until 1862, when he went to Colo-residing at Denver for a short time, and to New Mexico in 1863. Shortly alte arrival in New Mexico he was nppomud U. S.
