NUMBER 16.-rith. thousand -tongues to _your. from every spot in nature. Wherever you set your foot you stand on graves. Where the frograncy and beauty of flowers delights you most, there moat beings died and decayed. Nature can only weave new forms from death, which is her constant work. Here only, in the department of the spirit, is constancy, stability and life everlasting. However things may change, the intellect, the cause of those changes, is everlasting. Here in the house of the^Lord, through the me* diuni of-'religion, the Supreme Intellect Bpeaks to the individualized soul, and speaks immortal words. In the mind only new creations are constantly accomplished without feeding and subsisting on death.. In religion only is immortality and eternity. In nature, is war; the war of elements first, which Job said God. must restrict. “ He maketh peace in his heavens, that they destroy not each other/* Ocean wars upon the land, and threatens to wash it away, and God must threaten its impetuous billows: “Thither sbalt thou come, and no further, and here shall break the pride of thy waves/* The land makes war upon the sea, and repulses it continually. Here war and warfare ceases, and profound peace reigns supreme. There is no natural religion, and nature is not the temple of man to find his God. Nature teaches the omnipotence, wisdom, grandeur and infinite greatness of the Creator. Revealed religion teaches the benign and merciful father. It teaches goodness, love, mercy, grace, justice, righteousness, immortality, salvation, peace on earth and in heaven. Therefore we must have a temple for revealed religion, and wherever God’s words are taught there is the house of the Lord, there is God’s blessing.0All revealed religion is contained in the Bible, which is the only and everlasting source of Judaism. Therefore, each of our temples in which the words of God are taught, and the gracious Father sought and found, is a house of the Lord, dedicated to God, truth, justice, love and peace-
