One of Janesville's historic buildings is still around. The Carnegie Library building, which is now used as the city's senior citizens center, was originally built in 1903.Located on South Main Street, the structure served as a library until 1968, when the present library was built. The money to build the Carnegie Library came, in large part, from a $30,000 donation from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation plus a $10,000 bequest from the F.S. Eldred estate. The lot for the library cost $17,000. Photo courtesy of Don DeWitt, Clinton.Looking back
