TRANSPORTATION TOIOWA CITY HOSPITALSTransportation to from Iowa City's University Hospitals used to be a big problem for many lowans.The Hospital Car Service of the University of Iowa Hospitals is there to ease that problem.According to Dean Borg, Information Specialist at the Hospitals, all lowans are eligible to use the Hospital Car Service, if they don’t have othertransporation.A fee is charged, based on the mileage. But persons receiving S. S. I, anyone who has “state papers” will not becharged.To arrange for this transport tation, contact your local doctor, who can arrange for it at the time he or she makes an appointment for you at the hospital.For information on other services available to older people, contact your local Senior Information Service person.
