ABILENE SOUTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY hereby gives notice that on the 29th day of July, 1970, it filed with the Interstate Commerce Com mission at Washington, D. C. an application for a certificate of public convenience and necessi ty permitting abandonment of a portion of its line of railroad from a point at or near Mile Post 39.0 in or about Winters Texas, to a point at or near Mile Post 54.0 in or about Bal linger, Texas, a distance of ap proximately 15.72 miles in Run nels County, Texas, Finance Docket No. 26285. The proceed ing will be handled without hold ing hearings unless protests are received indicating a need for such hearings.
