A rapid pop ulation growth in the Miami town ship area has more than doubled at tendance, at the school during the past four years—from 220 in 1949 to 441 this year. Classrooms now are crowded, and one class has to use the auditorium. Along with adding the six class rooms, each of which will be equip ped with a wardrobe and washroom facilities, the school board proposes other improvements to the present building, including a new roof, new auditorium floor, redecorating, mod ernization of classroom lighting and of wash rooms, pointing up brick work and repairing windows. A bond issue for $140,000 will be submitted to voters on November 3 to finance the entire building and improvement program. The issue would increase taxes 39 cents per hundred dollars valuation, and this amount will decrease as new homes are built in the school district, offi cials pointed out.
