CONFERENCEPrcminc-nt speakers explained thoroughly the educational set-up and the financial difficulties of the Alabama school system Saturday, when a joint convention of the Eighth District Parent-Teachers Congress met wiui the Alabama Education Association at the City School Auditorium.Chief among the speakers were E. A. Davis, of Sheffield and District President, Miss Lorine Barnes, president Alabama Parent-Teachers Association; E. B. Norton, chairman, A. E. A. committee on Public Relations; Dr. R. L. Johns, of the State Department of Education; Frank Grove, Executive Secretary of A. E. A.; W. H. MacGregor, Assistant Secretary A. E. A.; W. L. Hayes, Director of Recreation, TV A, Wilson Dam; Mrs. B. R. Showalter, President Alabama Congress of Parents and Teachers, and Mr McKee of Northport.Culiman laymen who were present were M. L.
