A STUDENT'S LETTER.(From Co- M 15th Infantry )Fort Dougina, Utah Editor of tilt* ClUxeu,Berea, Ky*Dear Sir:I would be very much obliged if you would puhllah this letter In your paperWell boys, why don't you coin* out and be a soldier for Uncle Sam The pay has Increased and duty is easy-Thla U my second enlistment and If I was discharged today I would enlist again- I left Columbus, Ohio, on Aug 28th and reached Ft* Douglas on Sept 2nd. I cable through the Rocky Mountains- It is fine aceoery.I taw lob of snow and ice lu the hills end saw' or.e mountain lion and two black tears. I came by Pikes Peak, Colorado, which in 10,000 fi*et above sea level and saw' several Indian camps and lots of pretty western girls I think the west Is a flue climate for health and beauty I am well satisfied here The entire regiment will be here until Sept l»0t» and then we will go to Alaska We have a fine band and lots of amusement There is lots of nice fruit here In the valleys and lots of snow on the mountalu*Boys, when my time is out I will j come back to Old Kentucky and see you all and then join the army again. Soldiering is the easiest life you can live, you only drill 30 minutes a day and do guard duty once a month- What is easier than that?
