THE EIGHTY-EIGHTH BOYSHeld Their Annual Reunion at Auburn Last ThursdayThe surviving members of the 88th Regt. Ind. Vols. held a very successful reunion at Auburn last Thursday. The enrollment showed 105 members present, and together with their wives and friends, including ex-soldiers of other regiments, 350 dinner tickets were issued and nearly as many supper tickets. There are always some who will congregate where “the loaves and fishes are.” The W. R. C. had their hands full of hard work, but served good meals, and the comrades were ail happy oyer their treatment by the Auburn people;The exercises were held in Henry’s opera house and the program was* of more than ordinary interest. The £ campfire in the evening filled the a opera house to its fullest capacity and the program as previously published was carried out.In the election of officers by seniority of rank, Col. C. E. Bryant, of Huntington, was continued as president of the association; Lieut. Col. L. J. Blair, of Waterloo, as vice president; Major,W, A. Norris, of Albion, and Adjutant, M. E. Griswold, of Auburn, was continued in the absence of Adjt. Allen Dougal, who is holding a Federal office in the Philippines. Kendall-ville was chosen as the place of the next reunion, Oct. 8, 1904, which is the anniversary of the battle of Perry-ville, Ky., the fir9t engagement in which the regiment took part.There were present from this yicin-ity, members of the regiment, L. J. Blair, F. N. Beidler, Thos. H. Tomlinson, W. A. Bryan, Noah Miller, ParkSeberts, David Goodrich and Amos Lower, several of whom were accompanied by their wives.
