It was a cold day on Tuesday, and the hobby has gone im to winter quarters. The Sherman banner will float higher than all others in the Republican national convention of 1SSS. Will the opposing tickets be headed by Sherman and Hendricks? It was a clean-cut Sherman victory in Ohio. He gets the senatorship, Foraker the governorship, and Hoad-ley—well, the understanding is that he goes to the supreme court of the United States, where he will get permanent consolation for his defeat.Probably the saloon liceuse will not be raised, though that is not certain, but it surely will not be removed.—News.And yet it has been claimed twenty times within the last week or two that the intention was to repeal the $52 license, when no one had threatened or even hinted there waB any such intention.
