Lead Is also f »und iu several locations, and will undoubtedly add greatly to the ’indth of the country when its richness is developed. There is in every township plenty of limestone, build in 2: atone, and good clay fur brick. The Missouri State School of Mine-* and Metallurgy has been located at Kolia. This is the only institution of the kind in this country, aud it has been liberally endowed by the United Slates.THE CLIMATEIs most agreeable, the winters short and mild, the summers long and temperate: and from thelocution, elevation, and perfect drainage of the country, it is remarkably healthy, us pure air and water are abundant. ’THE PEOPLE.Aik* intelligent, industrious, and law-abiding, aud of course evidences of thrift are rapidly in-«]•*• axing. Towns and trading points are springing up along the line of the railroad and in other pans of tins section, and growing and improving with the country at a vapid rate.
