Louise was born in Neosho. Mo., the daughter of William Henderson Saunders and Jesse Borah, on Oct. 5. 1923. and grew up in Dallas. She was the seventh child in a family of eight children and began her career as a flight attendant with Pan Am Airlines, where she helped to organize the lirsi flight attendant's labor union While attending an aviation conference, she mci her husband of 44 years. William Clifford Wold, who predeceased her in 1991.Alter marriage. Louise and Bill Wold settled in Greenwich. Conn Twenty years later, the family moved to Madison. \ H . and then (Nsipee. N.H.. before settling in Dover. N.H. As a New Hampshire tree fanner, skuas most proud of her recent donation to the town of Madison. A preserve of open space and walking trails is protected forever in her name. Sk was also a member of the Society for the Protection of N il Forests, the Nature Conservancy and the Smithsonian Institution.throughout her life. Louise has believed in ik potential nobility of peoples This has given her wise counsel and lov ing encouragement to everyone she met. She strongly believed in tk oneness of mankind and supported racial and religious harmony, the importance of educational opportunity, and social and economic justice. Louise was a mem-hcr of the Baha’i Faith. Sk loved traveling throughout Latin America as a Pan Am flight attendant, beginning a lifelong affinity lor the people, the language and Ik culture. As a Baha i teacher she made trips to remote mountain villages in Central \mcrica. helping people to establish tkir local institutionsLouise worked as a hospital volunteer in Greenuictyand continued to volunteer in hospitals after moving to North Conway.
