Eight persons were indicted for murder by the grand jury that adjourned last night. They include Otto George, Harvey George and La fayette “Cotton” Bush for the alleged slaying of Herman Kirkland, Toulminville drug clerk, Solicitor B. B. Chamberlain said ‘he had confessions from the three defendants that they participated in the killing. John Henry Nobles, negro, was indicted for the slaying of Thos. A. Hart, former New York and Mobile welfare worker. The kill ing occurred last Easter. Harts body, with a bullet wound in his heart, was found in an alleyway on State st. near War ren. Solicitor Chamberlain said Nobles denied the killing, but that the state has a strong chain of circumstantial evidence against the prisoner. Nobles _was arrested_more than a month ago by Detectives James Quinn and Levine Bauer on in formation furnished by persons questioned by Patrolmen Neice and Hyland. Tootsie Brannan, “Cowboy” Still, Louis Bodden and Cecil Brooks were indicted for robbery. A total of 55 robbery indictments were returned by the grand jury.
