BY “ANNANIAS.”” The grand jury is grinding away. The Orange circuit court is in session. Paoli is full up with candidates, but it is powerful hard to enthuse the boys. A new coon in town, it will be a long time however before he will be old enough to vote. The Hon. Eph Inman, of Martin, is making a canvass of this county in the interest of the democrats. Another wedding right on hand. You bet we know all about it. We would’nt give them away for a $. If you want a first-class county paper subscribe for the Orleans Progress. The Progress gets better every issue. Christian Pro, and F. Pro are both confined to their room, but will be out in a few days. John is powerful boy for cider. Our post office is located in the north west corner of the public square. John says it is only temporary quarters, he has no idea where the democrats will move it. First class race at the fair grounds every afternoon, Bob White pulls the reins, Lish Braxtan is starter, Brax tan is judge and Elisha Braxtan is time keeper. Admittance thirty-five cents. The citizens of Paoli are determined to have water works, regardless of cost. It’s a move in the right direction, one fifth of the loss from fire in Paoli In the last twelve months would build a sys tem of water works that would have saved our town. Charles L. Jewett, of New Albany, is attending court; Burrell, of Browns town; Lawler, Alspaugh, Zaring, and others of Salem are also here; Wright, Talbott and Lingle, of Orleans, are on hand. The bench and bar of Southern Indiana is well represented here at this time.
