Damage estimated at $35,000 was caused when a flame burn on the Dufferin Stock Farm, owned by James Franceschini, on Jackes Avenue in Vaughan Township, was destroyed by fire last Friday night. Forty tons of baled hay, a large quantity of unthreshed wheat and a thousand bushels of wheat were lost. North York firemen were called to the scene by an employee of the Brewer's Retail Store at Newton brook but could do nothing to have the large barn and concentrated on smaller ones nearby. Richmond Hill firemen under Chief Bert Cook were also called and spent some hours pouring water on the smoul dering ruins. A number of palo mino horses, stabled in one of the smaller buildings nearby, were led to safety. The blaze was an exceedingly fierce one and could be seen as far as fifteen miles away. By the time firemen arrived flames had eaten through the roof and were snooz ing a couple of hundred feet into the air. Cause of the blaze is not known,
