ORGANIZATION STARTS ON ITS CAREER UNDER MOST FLAT TERING CIRCUMSTANCES Officers Elected at Meeting Held at Hawaiian Hotel Last Night— Minor Changes In By-Laws Sug gested—Membership Growing. ‘The Hawaii Yacht Club has already developed into a healthy youngster among the warted social and sporting organisations of Honolulu. A rousing meeting of the club was held yester day evening at the Mawailan Hotel, at which time officers were elected. A @omeral discussion of the regulations and bylaws of the club were a taken up for discussion. That the Hawaii Yacht Club is destined to be come one of the foremost institutions in the city was plainly apparent by the enthusiasm manifested by those present. A large number of candidates were before the charter members of the various offices When the ballots were counted the successful ones were found to be as follows: Commo dore, T. W. Hebron, Vice Commodore, Prince David Kawananakos; Secre tary and Treasurer, P. L. Weaver, Jr. Ktegatta Committee, A. W. Pearson, Clarence Crabbé, J. S. Dillingham. Iirectors: W. F Dillingham, E. A. Mott@mith, D. L. Conkling. Several minor amendments and changes were suggested in the by laws. Considerable disruption re sulted over the proper definition of what constituted an amateur and a professional from a yachting stand point. At the suggestion of Prince Cupid a committee consisting of Commo dore T. W. Hebron, Prince David and Ruby Dexter were appointed to secure designs of suitable flags for the craft owned and controlled by club mem ber. The matter of adopting the by-laws was deferred to another meeting to be held at the call of the chairman. The charter Ist of the new aquatic organization has already received sixty signatures. The membership is left open to gay person of good char acter who takes an interest In yacht ,x matters An Initiation fee, placed an a nominal figure insures a large, ist of members. Arrangements have been made look ing to the location of a site at Pearl Harbor. When the plans of the club are fully carried out that organiza tion wil fled treely enecoased in one of the best headquarters of any simi lar association in the tslands.
