Will Be Mustered Out, Washington, Oct. 11. —General J. C. Breckinridge has been included in the list of major generals to be mustered out, and will return to his duties as in spector general, with the rank of briga dier general. A Lynching Stopped, Lexington, Ky., Oct. 11.—As a result of the killing of a private in the Twelfth New York regiment by Provost Guard Kitchen Sunday night 200 or 400 mem bers of that regiment formed a mob last night and seized a train at Camp Ham ilton with the intention of coming to town on it and raiding the county jail for the purpose of taking Kitchen out and lynching him. General Wiley and Colonel Leonard were quickly norified of the uprising and they suppressed the mob by the most radical and prompt ac tion. Private Corbett Killed, Jacksonville, Fla., Oct. 11.—Private John Corbett of company A, First North Carolina, was shot and killed by Private Clint Robinson of company I, Fourth Illinois regiment, while the lat ter was doing duty as provost guard. Robinson was exonerated from all blame as he acted entirely in self defense. Suit Against the Cotton Bhest, Austin, Oct. 11.—Judge E. B. Perkins of Greenville and H. B. Marsh of Tyler, attorneys for the Cotton Belt railway, are here in consultation with the attor ney general awent a suit for the forfeit ure of the charter of the St. Louis South western railway of Texas for not keep ing a general office in Texas. Under the law a road has six months to com ply with this statutory provision, and the commission experts have reported that the road has adopted measures to comply, but the penalties asked for still hold, and it is either the remission or compromise of the penalties that the at torneys mentioned are here for. Nego tiations were not concluded. Shooting at Lockhart, Lockhart, Tex., Oct. 11.—Jim Smith, colored, was shot and seriously wound ed by Albert Bradshaw, also colored, a few miles east of town. Bradshaw sent for Deputy Sheriff Fowler and surrend ered and is now in jail. General Hardin For Governor. Shelbyville, Ky., Oct. 11.—In an ad dress here General P. Watt Hardin for mally announced himself as a candidate for the next Democratic nomination for governor. Corbett Challenges Everybody. New York, Oct. 11.—Corbett chal lenges everybody and posts a $5000 for feit. Tom Sharkey's manager accepted the challenge for the sailor and posted @ forfeit. EFight-Year-Old Boy In Jail. Guthrie, C. T., Oct. 11—There are 37 prisoners in the Federal jail here await ing trial. One of them is ane-year-old boy, charged with post office robbery. Attachments on a Stock. Yorktown, Tex., Oct. 11.—Attach ments amounting to about $1000 were levied on the goods of H. Schlosser, gen eral merchandise dealer at Nordheim. Bale of Cotton Fell on Him Gatesville, Tex., Oct. 11.-A dray man named John Grant received a se rious injury here by a bale of cotton falling from a wagon on him. Well Known Citizen Dead, Hennessy, C. T., Oct. 11.—A. J. Kaze bear, a well known citizen, aged 40, fell dead in the City dune store of heart dis ease. Tramps Hold Up a Negro. Round Rock, Tex., Oct. 11.—Two tramps held up a negro between McNeil and Austin and robbed him of #47.
