iiiiuura* ui w:«er. «o-The first Drayman.The firet person who ever drove a dray in Cincinnati, is now living in Newport, Ky.— There were no wagon makers among us in the business, and the vehiclti was of his own construction. The shafts were made of saplings, the axel-tree of a hickory log, nnd the wheels were made of the rounds of a sycamore stump, sawed to the thickness of about four inches and tired. Instead of a horse ho drove nn ox harnessed up with raw bull’s hide. What a sight that old dray would be now, and if it existed, it6 primitive rudeness would commandveneration.
