Central Ward— These first graders received 100 per cent in their first vocabu lary test: Gary Wickman, Janice Simmons, Dennis Jones, Karen Arkland, Linda Swartz, Colene Stull, Judy Michelsen, Mickey Banks, Jimmie Linderman, George Johnson, Patricia Michner, Vivian Hopkins, Priscilla Kruger, Dickie Craig, Robert Gallamore, Colin Heeward, Alvin Maple and Gretch en Acker. The following third graders had an average of 100 per cent on the first months spelling tests: Gary Bervin, Bradley Brehm, Billy Eden, Richard Gobel, Roderick Swartz, Jean Asendorf, Deanne Duis, Bren da Lisenfeld and Judy Sullivan. Don Washburn, Nancy Henney, Carolyn Hatz and Linda Zabel re ceived high scores in a review ge ography test. Harriet Eden, Pauline Evans, Ann Nelson and Gary Hagensen earned 100 per cent in the fifth grade’s weekly spelling test. All fourth grades have express ed an interest in the stories and poems about Coumbus. Directions and crayola work on pictures of Columbius were well done by Dick Ogievie, ‘Lee Shirey, Raymond Chancellor, Bessie Maple, Marlene Milne and Barbara Patecek. The sixth grade children have been drawing and coloring autumn jeaves in art classes. West Ward— We drew some good circus pic tures with our big colors on news print. We like to sing about “Big Jumbo”. These second grade pupils re ceived 100 per cent in spelling the past week: Barry Dale, Jerry Del gado, Lee Peterson, Daisy John son, Beverly Lemmon, Ruth Ann Lind, Barbara Morris and Karen Ortgies. Third grade pupils who received 100 per cent in spelling are: Arth ur Barr, Dennis Bogle, Harold Ro ker, LeRoy Isaac, Roland DeBoer, Diane Dalke, Sharon Kay Lloyd, Shirley Oberhelman and Sue Snell. Diane Dalke, Sharon Kay Liody, Sue Snell and Dennis Bogle earn ed 100 per cent in a social studies test “Business in Centerville.” The sixth graders receiving 100 per cent in the six weeks arithme tic test were Sharon Huntsinger and Donivan Ortgies. In the six weeks history test, the following received an ‘A’: Shar on Huntsinger, Merlene Walker, Ronald Ellis, Leland Knobel, Ber nard Lewis and Donivan Ortgies. West Ward played Central at football. The game ended in a tie. These pupils received 100 per cent in the six weeks spelling test: Mary Smart, Sharon Huntsinger, Sherry Cassidy, John Bennett, Rodney Corbin and Donivan Ort gies. East Warn — In a 20 word spelling test the following second grade children spelled all their words correctly Judy Pease, Loyal Nance, Karen Adkins, Dennis Rohlfing, Glen Snyder, Sharon Miller, Norma Pundy, Phyllis Rempel, Lois Huffman and Janis Johnson. Glen Snyder fought a birth day treat for the second grade Friday. The following fourth grade children received 100 per cent in spelling last week: Richard Justa, Patricia Cummings, Bon nie Hill, Glenda Pease, Norene Seachard, Jack Smith, Tene Eye, Ann Moss, Gayle Pieters and Joy Vance. In an arithmetic test given recently, the following fourth grade students a ‘fA’: Albert Garcia, Ronald Isher, John Bret, Jimmy Goff, Pedro Arando, Brian Napier, Betty Reynolds, Brian Napier, Betty Séachard, Joan Carmichael, Wayne Rempel, Floyd Danner, Joyce Winder, Joy Whiting, Norma Hurst and Bob Lynch, Park School Mrs. Everett Trisler was a Neindergarten visitor this week. S*e brought treats for all the children in honor of the biria dey of her daughter, ‘Carolyn. Safety first rates and the cir cus have been kindergarten sub jects of conversation this week. The first grade children wrote a chart story about their toy dog, Bowser. This is their fourth chart story. The first and second grades listed a group of science facts learned about circus animals. Marj re Brown, Betty Kin zie, Wilma’ Rothmeyer, Kay Mullins, Janet Shultz, George Leyton, Howard Bristol and Delmar Barnes made __ perfect scores in speHing tests in the second grade. Donald Schrock, Maurice Veatch, Joyce Shultz, Maureen Veatch, Ile Simmons and Glenda Newes earned 100 per cent in’ third and fofth spell ing this week. Donald’ $2 rock drew an ex cellent picture of a football team in a motion. The third and fourth graders are enjoying the preparation of creative play from the operetta “Hanzel and Gretel.” They also are studying the music of this orchetta. Shirle, Schrock, Janice Pra ther, Janice Beetley, Roger Brown, Francis Rothmeyer and Ruth Layton made the best maps of the United States sow ing all natural regions. The fifth and sixty grades are memorizing “October's Bright Blue Weather” by Helen Hunt Jackson.
