r»The first meeting of the new State [ Theatre Popeye ciub was held pre-1 ceding the matinee Inst Saturday,with a young and enthusiastic audi--'jence attendance.Application blanks ,arc still being ^ given out by the official Popeye ^ merchants, which, when properly tilled out, entitle each new member to an official membership card and a Popeye button.' Yell leader Larry Sullivan led the group through the Popeye Club creed, two new yells, and explained 1 about the organization. Popeye made a short appearance on the screen and the meeting closed with the singing of the Popeye song.This Saturday the members will learn the secret handshake and nominations will be in order for Popeye Club officers.After the meeting, the picture will be Richard Dix in “The Arizonian/’ with a Charlie Chase comedy, color cartoon, news and the second chapter of the new serial thriller, “Young Eagles.”. ,o
