Three More People Who Had Liquor on Their Premises and Is After Others.Yesterday afternoon after the (1a-zlttk had gone to press Marshal Lloyd and his deputies raided three more places, one on Shattuck avenus and two on 'Telegraph avenue.Marshal Lloyd and Deputy Hone went to Mi's. 'Thompson’s hotel and searched it, hut only found a few bottles of beer which she said were for her own personal use.Deputies Hone and Davis then went to Mrs. Silvershield’s candy store on 'Telegraph avenue, and after^scarching the store and room behind it and find ing nothing, went into a closet back of the dining room and found some liquor in a demijohn and some bottles of beer, which they confiscated and took to the^Town HallMrs. A. NIr, who has a restaur ant on the corner formerly oc cupied by Lfeagerly, was die next place visited and here the officers made quite a little haul, all of which was taken to the 'Town Hall. After these seizures the officers, con eluding that they had done a pretty good day’s work, rested from their labors, but it is said that there are several other suspected places and among them several student club houses that they will descend upon very suddenly and at almost any hour.Contrary to expectations there were no warrants issued today and none of the parties whose plac es were raided have been arrested. It is not expected [hat any persons will be arrested until after the Marshal has made his report ;o the Trustees this evening, and the Town Attorney informs the Hoard as o their rights in the premises and as ,lt; who should swear to the complaints. In the meantime everything is quiet ind nothing but temperance drinks can e obtained in the eastern end ot town. This closing up of the Hast Herkelev saloons has not caused any extra trade o drift to the West End, so we are in ormed by the proprietors of the sa-oons there.
