“ Al” Manty Wins Football Contest As Disgraced Entries SneakOHt Cf TownMAYNARD — Tiger defensive half-1 seph Rorey, Robert Della Rusfoback, A1 Manty of SO Parker street, intercepted a pass against Shrewsbury last Saturday and he also intercepted ten smakeroos by emerging victorious in the second BEACON football contest of the current semester.Manty had seven wrong along with Paul Crotty of 49 Sudbury street May* nard; Ahti Jaakkola of 19 Fairfield street, Maynard; and Bill Mullin of 7 Haynes street.However, Manty’s 26-8 prediction of the Maynard-Shrewsbury game was closer to the actual 28-14 score than any of the quartet and he won aU the marbles.Second prize went to Billy Mullin who had it 16-15 which put him 13 points off the actual score but enough to edge out Paul Crotty who had 22-6 and was 14 points away.The “Mad Sage of the Assabet Valley” had a fine week with only eight wrong and there were eleven contestants who tied him as he escaped the fate of joining the disgraced list.Rebecca Cuddy, Tony Arcieri.
