The 45th anniversary of the Canadian National club, one of the oldest Franco-American social organizations of the two cities, was observed when the annual program was held here Sunday. Forty-five members and guests attended. During the morning business session at the home of Frank X. Emond, Hill street, a charter member, officers were re-elected. They were President, Joseph Valliere; Secretary, Hormidas Belair; Treasurer, John Beauche min. The banquet was held at the Wonderbar at 1 o’clock Sunday. Past President Napoleon J. Emond was toastmaster. Speak ers were State Representative Napoleon Nadeau, Albert Allie, Dover, N. H., and Emond. Included in the congratulatory messages received and read was an anniversary card with an original verse from Miss Helene M. Thivierge, a local representa tive of French newspapers and Franco-American publications. Following the dinner members of the reunion group were en tertained by Valliere at Valliere’s studio, Main street. The program was arranged by Belair, Beauchemin, Francois Simard, Allie and Valliere.
