GRENVILLE !A number of the members of the I. 0. O. F. went to Des Moines Tue.s-day to attend the funeral of W, 0. Bryson, a worthy member of thislodge.W. S. Huffine, Charlie Moore, J. A. Moore, Mrs. A. G. Steele, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Cudd, Mr. and Mrs. J. W Snelson, Rufus King, Clarence Earp and E. D. Cartwright attended the»Democratic county convention last Saturday afternoon (and Sunday-morning).Alex Lawson’s brother from Oklahoma is here for a visit.All reports coming from St. Luke’s hospital in Denver in regard to Mr. Light’s condition are favorable. It is thought that he may soon be able o come home.Emil Frisk has gone to Maxwell, vvheie he is working at the carpentoi trade.Theo Manzanares, Jake Weber, Mi.I and Mrs. E. U. Scott and Mrs. Harry Goodell composed the delegation from Precinct No. 27 to the Republican county convention last Monday.Vince Steele and Fred Williams have entered school and are taking-regular work under the new regula-' ticns.Mr. Goodrich, one of the high school teachers, was called away early last week to attend the funeral of his mother-in-law. He returned Sunday with his bereaved bride. His many i friends extend their heartfelt s.vm-; paihy to this young couple.The student body has contributed ; : small amount with which to pur-lt; base a small flag, which will be. hoisted every day, and the faculty and 1 the student body hsve pujchased a study hall clock.Tiie Domestic A.rt department has organized in a club, Munett McKilvey as president and Virg'.c Sink as secretary and treasurer. They have purchased a v/ashpan and towels, which the girls have made themselves.'i here are fifty-four enrolled in i High School. Most cf the pupils are | back in school again, as the bean harvest is almost over.The girls’ basket ball team has not begun practice yet, bat expect to as soon as the new auditorium is ready for usg. *We are pleased to include the fol-•owing interesting budget of school news handed in by Miss Alta Mooie:A dozen boys, equipment for two, and a job for fifty., that is the status of the manual training class. The boys needed a steel square so they tool; up a collection and bought one. They have built a tool and hat rack, a large bench, a book case, and are going to make all the tables, book cases and a large part of the apparatus used in the science courses. Besides this they have been placing extra seats; and desks in the study hail.
