NO. 44MEMPHIS YOUTH TO DIE IN CHAIRALLEN M'NAMARA, CONVICTED OF CRIMINAL ASSAULT ON GIRL. GIVEN DEATH PENALTY BY JURY.Memphis, Oat. 9.—Allen McNamara, aged 23, was sentenced to death in the electric chair for his assault upon Miss Mary Thompson, aged 17, on the night of August 29. The case went to the jury at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon and the jury returned its verdict at 9:45 o’clock tonight.With staring eyes McNaamara listened to Judge Richards slowly intoning his death sentence, but wan successful in his fight to control hi* emotion. The only outward sign of feeling was his labored breathing. His young wife, clatching to her breast little Annie McNamara, their two-year-old child, laid her head on McNamara's shoulder and wept. Weighed down by a grief that left her eyes dry, the doomed ' boy'a mother sat rigid in her chair. -o--
