Ramember that unsatisfactory work can be improved iflooked after now, but at end of semester the opporrunity is past.During the past summer we were incorrespondence with the Bureau of Ednhation and have some letters written by Mothers who were formerly Kindergarten teadj rs. It is true that the stimulus of co operative work and play, so vital a feature of the kindergarten, is not so apt to be found in the smaller group at home and is entirely lacking in the case of the only child. Nevertheless, many of the activities provided in the kindergarten can be carried on not only by the small group but by the lonely child as well, “Cofne let us live with our children”TTlvreralcurithetrult;sam*peritlon beei in t com varl cles its ibe lt;ot t TLeaa11,autlco-cnenbeira nRobof ; Uni tlon curi.Mrs Mrs of t Tin i tlonits iAmidiuipatischiTIIberthetrioliton*prlrers(pastribjthea b .mat■ tact lie, imes2,50Tingdefiamlt;thefiedpro]ThestaltlortheparbeeIn ( dlee entJ4WO IquaStorsengcurrUniternDr.Colarbandis the old familiar Froebelian slogan. We might paraphrase it by saying:“Come let us sing with our children,”Why shouldn't children sing morning greetings to father and mother as well as to teacher? Even two year olds that I know can sing them and delight in doing so. The goodmorning songsto various members of the family, to^ J the new day, to sun or clouds, sung while dressing, do much to create a 11 sunny morning atmosphere. There are songs to accompany many o£the home r I duties, besides a wealth * of nature31 songs. At bed time the devotional spirit of the evening prayer may be enhanced by the singing of a child’s♦hymn* Songs such as these can be found in “Games, and Music of Froe-fw -bel’s Mother Play” and in other kindergarten song books. Any good library would have some of these, or itwould be possible to buy copies throughd a bookstore.1
