D. Angell of Milwaukee, was present at the meeting and aided in the organization. Officers elected were Mrs. James Jackson Jr., president; Mis. Otto Benson, vice-president; Mrs. K O. Kinker, secretary a^d treasurer. Others in attendance were Mrs. L*. II. Prince, Mrs. H. H. Morgan, Miss Kleanqr Began, Mrs. C. A. UaiKin, Mrs. Frank Mtade and Mrs. Kinney, Milwaukee. A number of other alumuea nurses in the city wiil join.To Caro for Civilian SickThe Kmergency league was organized for the purpose of a.ding in the care of the sic.i of the civilian populationduring the progress of the vtar.The league is organized to meet a medical condition occasioned by the depletion of the nursing tanks by service abroad and at home in the army, naval and Bed Cross, hosp.nil units. Tjje membership.of this organization islimited to skilled graduate nurses, wno ate available to do hourly nursing, give anaesthetics, and assist in ubstretrlcal and surgical cases when no other help can be secured.Fills Long Felt Need“I feel that tnis league can do agreat patriotic service, said Mrs. Morgan this morning. We have long felt the need of women who can go out and do hourly nurn.ig. This body of women tan do much to get a county rnii.se. They will go on cases if no one else can be obtained.The league win offer its services at once to the city medical association. As soon as mo*e chapters are organized and the membtrbn*p nas increased, tiie it ague w .d oe represented on me womens committee of the state council of defence.
