W. Brown and Mr. Charles Bmith, which row I ted in Brown shooting Smith, and in Brown being ahol by Tho*. A. Lyons, U»c ward Constable, who it is said was trying to prevent Brown from shoot ing Smith the second time. Immediately after the shooting OflHth Lyon* telegraphed District Attorney Kearney of this affair and-came in on Tuesday, accompanied by Mr. Oalvat Andrus and Mr. Bam. R. Lyons, and surrendered, but owing to the absence of J ndffe B. D. Read in Cameron parish. Constable Lyons returned to Edgerly, where, the next day an affidavit was made against him by Mr. Sam. U. Lyons for shooting Brown, and by Mr. Charles Smith against Brown lor shooting him (Smith.) This is an affair much to be regretted, but we are glad to say that both partie* are likely to recover. We refrain from giving any of the particulars, aR related to ns, for the reason that tlso case, so far as Constable Lyons is concerned, will be investigated in the early part of the coming week by the Court.
