OBITUARY-DIED—on Saturday last, after a very painful illness ofabout 12 days, Mrs. Lydia Henry, consort of Aaron B. Henry, Esq., of Center township, in the 43d year of her age. Mrs. Henry was a member of the Baptist church for a number of years, and previous to her death expressed a firm belief a blessed existence herexfter. She died the Christian’s death. On Sunday, her remains were interred at Ebenezer meeting house, after a very impressive sermon by the Rev. Ezra Ferris, attended by a large number of her friends and citizens.Departed this life at her residence in Milan, Indi, on the 2d instant, after a long and painful illness, Mrs. Lydia Sherman, consort of Ebcr-Sherman, Esq. of Saratoga county, New York* in the 35th year of her age. The sincere* the single hearted, the affectionate friend has gone ! The tender, the devoted wife has left a circle desolate indeed to mourn her loss. Were it not for the conviction that every affliction from the hand of our Almighty Father is from the hand of love, as we sympathise .with the husband, we should exclaim his sorrow is greater than can be borne j but faith and hope, like the two angels at the sepulcher* one sitting at the head, the other at the feet of every departed saint—the one looking for a glorious resurrection, and the other insuring the promise fulfilled; therefore we feel that all is well.We know she has gone to the home of her rest,Then why should our souls be so sad ?We know she has gone where the tveary’ arc blest,' ^Where the mourner looks up and is glad.[Communicated.
