Springfield, Ma. Oct. —FI— George W. Young, 75 years old, na tive of Springfield and one of the original members of the famous Bald Knobpers, died at his home here yesterday afternoon. Young lived for several years in Taney county when a young man, When the Bald Knobbers were or gganized to restore law and order to a misgoverned county, he was one of those who joined. But when the organization degenerated into a terrorist gang, most of the origi nal members resigned, among them Young. He was operating a newspaper for Forsyth, Mo., and when he printed something to which the or ganization took exception, they burned his plant and threatened him with bodily harm. As a diplo matic move, he took into the com pany J. A. Delong, son-in-law of Capt. Nat Kinmey, leader of the Bald Knobbers. But after a few years, he returned to Springfield. At the time of his death he had been in the printing business here about 0 years.
