F, Condon and then skip out for the south and spend a week in hiding at Forest City?That is the* question that has sprung up here following the assertion by Lee Fhilbeck, boarding houst* operator, that a man giving his name as Hauptmann and who resembled the pictures of the man arrested in New York for the kidnaping, spent a week here two years ago, staying close to the house during the day and only going out at night to a movie.The Hauptmann who did epend a week here w*as driving a delivery type truck carrying New York licence plates. This man, who told Mr. Fhilbeck that he was from Germany but that he never intended going back to his own country, kept the truck parked at the rear of the boarding houso, where he slept in it at night, taking his meals with the other boarders.The fact that he did not have a room made it unnecessary for him to register and his first name or initials have been forgotten by Mr. Philbeck, who is firm, however, in his belief that this man and the man arrested for the kidnaping are one and the same.
