PHOENIX, Ariz., Oct —Plans for the decoration of 30 blocks of the business section of the city have just been completed in con nection with arrangements for the coming Main Line Exposition to be held here Oct. 15, celebrating the opening of the new main line railroad of the Southern Pacific through Phoenix. Colors which have been chosen for the occasion are blue and gold and these will predominate all decorations and will fly from the automobiles of the city. Each city in the valley has adopted a separate set of colors which will be used on au tomobiles to designate the section they are from. Arrangements are being made for the entertainment of an out of town guests to the celebration. Celebration headquarters will be located in the Chamber of Com merce building, where a large room, formerly occupied by the Central Arizona Light and Power company will be furnished with comfortable chairs and lounges for the accommodation of visi tors. Fifty new automobiles furnish ed by automobile firms of the city will be available at the head~ quarters for the guests who will be taken on excursions over the valley during the afternoon. The excursions, band concerts in dif ferent parts of the city and a foot ball game between the Flagstaff Lumberjacks and the Phoenix Bears will provide entertainment for the afternoon. The celebration will open at 10:30 in the morning with the simultaneous arrival over the new line of trains from Los Angeles and El Paso. When the two trains pull into the union station head on, every whistle and bell in the city will burst forth in greeting. The passengers will be showered with roses as they leave trains and immediately after, a short reception program will be held with a massed band and a cho rus of approximately 600 voices furnishing music. The evening program will in clude a gigantic parade in which floats from all parts of the state have been entered. The proces sion will include about 20 bands and orchestras and is expected to be two miles in length. The crowning event of the whole affair will be the all-Ari zona out of-door carnival hall at which out-of-town guests will be special guests. The affair will be held in an elaborately decorated setting, with horns, confetti and serpentine providing the carnival spirit, on the pavement, On First avenue opposite the post office square Voters elect Mary A.
