KLAN PARADETUESDAY EVENINGATTRACTS MANYHUNDREDS LINE SIDEWALK AS CAVALADE MOVES OVER MAIN STREETSAirplane .Displaying .Fiery .Cros* Circles Above City Firing Bombs as Klansman MarchThe Cedar Rapids branch of the Independent Klan of America, joined by members from Boone and Central City held a big ceremonial meeting at the fairgrounds Tuesday evening, attended by hundreds of people from the surrounding country.Promptly at 7:30 o’clock the parade moved south on Thirteenth street, west on Seventh avenue to Tenth street and thence north on Tenth street to the fairgrounds. Hundreds of people stood on the sidewalks and in the streets to view the spectacle. The parade was enlivened by- band music and was quite an imposing affair. While a considerable number were on foot, a majority rode in automobiles, which were decorated for the occasion, many of them carrying banners bearing the mottos of the organization.While the parade was in progress an airplane showing a fiery red cross circled over the city time after time, occasionally dropping bombs.At the fair grounds a ceremonial was enacted.The demonstration was staged by the Cedar Rapids klan which was recently ousted from the imperial klan and it is understood was largely for the purpose of demonstrating that the organization would be continued despite the fact that it had been outlawed by the imperial body.While some of those who appeared in the parade were hooded and masked a majority of thr men and women made no effort to hide their identity.Utt.
