Died, at the family residence near Cheneyville, La„ oti September 26, 3920, Mrs, Emma Augusta Ganner; wife of W, J. S. Johnson, aged 69 years 4 months-■Deceased was the daughter or Robt. Linn Gunner a pioneer of Rapides parish any one af the most widely known and prominent families there.Her mother was sister to the late Judge Alfred Irion. Deceased blossomed into fair womanhood amid every luxury that could surround anyone’s life. She was widely known and loved fo rher inner charm of character and all who came In contact with her seemed to take up the burden of life with a lighter heart, for it was ever tier aim to scatter sunshine, and lend a helping hand In time of trouble and of need.Her charitable deeds were never confined to any one religion or creed, it was her life work to “cast her bread upon the waters/' and surely God in his goodness blessed her every ef- 1 fort for she lived as few, amid friends,' flowers and every comfort that human ‘heart could wish.Twenty-one months before her beloved husband had crossed over the -River while in conversation with her i the golden thread ot life was snapped ; and he looked Into her face arising i as it were and when she put-out her I hand and called him. She was a t a member of the First Baptist Church t of Cheneyville and served as organist lt;of that church for thirty or more i years. j1She leaves one son, W.
