Clyde Phillips Had Miraculous Es cape Sunday at the Glendora Mine Northeast of City. Clyde Phillips, a Glendora’ min er, had a miraculous escape from death Sunday when he fell a_ dis tance of one hundred and _ twenty feet into the sump of the mine at Glendora. He sustained a broken collar bone and a fractured knee cap. Phillips was working on the tip ple when he was struck by a large bucket used in hoisting miners from the bottom, and was knocked from the tipple, and fell to the bottom of the shaft.
