Jenkinsbupg.The people of this section express themselves as highly please 1 with your liberality in donating a column each to Temperance and to the Alliance. Though all do not agree with the modus oporandi of either, yet all concede that the object of both is right, and the p ress does well to recognize both, and woe unto the paper that ignores either.The Rev. J. T. Kimbell tilled the pulpit at County Line last Sabbath which is the regular meeting of the church at that place. In his usual forcible and concise way he showed the reason of the numerous so called peculiarities of the Baptist, and in a burst of genuine oratjry exclaimed, “Every Baptistchurch is a little sovereign at home up-o n its own floor,“which truth makes us love the Baptist more and more. The congregation was composed of the various denominations who regarded the argument as un\nswerable, and yet it came so gently there was no exception taken as there was no offence intended.The Alliance met at this place last Sarurday and held a harmonious and interesting meeting. And all went as merry as a marriage bell.The last emigrant to arrive at Jen-kinsburg was Master James Garland Harmon, who weighs eight pounds.N. J. II.
