1Horse Enuuo.—During the past few weeks several horses have been wned with a disorder ol the respiratory organs bat nothing was thought of the trouble until within the last few days, since wh ieh time the disease has attack^ hundreds » jj of the animals. The malady, according to oar be^t veteriu.iry wiPitiui.*, may be . M characterised as a catarrhal tever. It commences with a severe hacking coagh acootupaoieii by considerable fever, redness of the maeons mtiubruc of the ucwe, hot month, stariug eout aud wiiaosa of the extremities. After a short time a die- ® charge of matter from the Dose occur*. When the animal is exposed to any vitiating influence such as a cold draft, or iia pate aUble, or when it is kept at hard work, the longs become affected, aud or coarse more severe symptoms appear. Thus far, notwithstanding all. reports on the streets to the contrary, no deaths have oceurred. and when rational treatmeut is panned there will be little danger. During the past couple of days, Dr. A. Smith Veterinary Surgeon, has treated no less than six bun red of the diseased animals The epidemic is not eooucd to any par-iicnlar stable, but has appeared in all the large ones of the city. It is impossible to aaeribe any tangible cause for the disease, but is supposed to be due to a peculiar condition of the atmosphere, and if suoh be the ease, it is more than likely that all borsee'throogbont the country will be more or less affected. Iu support of this aapposatioo it may be mentioned that several of the prise auimalt at the Guelph exhibition yesterday, showed symptoms ol having caught heavy cold*.It is more than probable that instead «I eoids, they are afflicted with the c.tarrhai fever.-—Mail of Saturday.
