Q Club Honors GatesLast week’s Player of the Week award as given by the Quarterback Club of Geneva to Delivan Willis Gates. The hard charging left tackle earned the prize for his fine performance in the Allegheny football game.Gates crashed through the Allegheny line on innumerable occasions to wreck their scoring aspira-;ions. He also threw a key block on he play which enabled Dick Tur-oski to romp eighty-three yards for a touchdown.In the spring this athlete is a rugged defenseman for Babe Kraus’ lacrosse team.“Augie” was a fullback on the Watkins Glen High School football team. He performed at center on his high school basketball quintet.The Kappa Sigma junior also played bugle for the Geneva Drum and Bugle Corps which placed eighth in nationwide competition a few years ago.
