A new ice factory will be con structed here, and will be in readi ness to manufacture ice by April 1, Homer Kerley announced Satur day. Associated with Kerley in the business are Ned Rector and G. W. Martin, who have applied for a State charter for the Home Ice Company, with a capitalization of $30,000. The plant will be located on North Locust Street, just south of the Martin Lumber Company and will be constructed of brick. Work on the building will start within the next three weeks, Kerley said, and about four months will be requir ed to install ice making machin ery. The plant will manufacture distilled water ice. The capacity of the plant has not yet been decid ed, but will be somewhere between 20 and 40 tons.
