A campaign to eradicate the mil lions of Argentine ants that are threatening to capture Starkville has just been started by the experiment department of the College. This matter was recently brought up at a meeting of the Chamber of Com merce and at the suggestion of the Board of Directors, a committee ac companied Mr. Langston, who has charge of the campaign, before the Board of Aldermen at their meeting this week and outlined all the plans. Part of the city was over run with ants last year and a campaign was at on then but, on account of its eing started too late, was only par tially effective and this year the ants have reappeared in bigger masses than ever before. The territory they have invaded is much more extensive. For this reason the work will be started at once and, it is expected, will be most successful.
