KA.VtiAROO VALLEV’ (Xowra Circuit. Mr. hikI Mrs. H. Chittiekwho have been associated with the Kangaroo Valley Church during the past ..A years, were entertained at a farewell gathering 011 the Ulst instant. Messrs. R. .Shepherd (Senior Circuit Steward), A. Wilson (Junior Circuit Steward), T. Moffitt, J.P., Rev. J. Walker, and the circuit minister, made reference to their many estimable qualities and expressed great, regret at their departure. The circuit minister, ••a behalf of the members and friends the Church, presented Mr. Chittiek with a beautiful illuminated address, the work of Mr. Gerald Ansdcll. a local artist. T.n addition to the usual text a faithful reproduction of the Church anil Mr. and Mrs. Chittiek s old home were introduced with good effect. The Rev. J. Walker, a former minister, on behalf of the donors, presented Mrs. Chittiek with a choice sil-ve,‘ hot-water kettle and stand. Mr. Chittiek filled the office of senior society steward with marked ability, and his loyalty and complete devotion to the Church and Circuit were emphasised by all the. speakers, whilst Mrs. Chittiek Rns been the essence of gracious hospitality. Mr. Chittiek responded in a characteristic speech, and whilst thanking the friends for their handsome presents, expressed his sorrow at leaving the Valley, Their departure is much regretted by officials and mmmOi* all over the Shonlhnven Circuit, as i( is a severe loss to our Church in (his district. Tliev are returning to their old home at Gerringong. This Circuit is being depleted by removals, numbers of families having left during the past five or six years, no less than wenty-two having removed during the •re'-ent minister’s term.DVXGOG-STROri).—Rev.
