Ellis, a resident of Montrose, Iowa for many years, died September 29, 1943 at the home of Mrs. Nora Luke in Keokuk, Iowa.A daughter of Thomas and Susan Buss Ellis, she was born at Montrose, January 14, 1856. She was a member of the Methodist church and a charter member of the Martha Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. ' ,Miss Ellis, who has been an invalid for the past six years, spent most of that time in the home of her niece, Mrs. Geo. Clearman of Oxford, She was a former school teacher and throughout her long life made many friends.Survivors' include one sister, Mrs. Emory White of Minneapolis, Minn., five nieces, Mrs. Geo. Clearman, Mrs. L. F. Miller of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. O. D. Christensen of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. George Hulling of Portland, Oregon, Miss Eleanor Ellis ofSan Francisco and one nephew, Captain Russell D.
