An uncle of 8. Church, one of the few survivors on the ill-fated R-101, resides in this city in the person of Thomas Church, 841 Thirteenth street. The latter stated today that the en gineer who was able to give first de tails of the air tragedy is just 26 years of age, and that he has been with the R-101 since construction was started on it some years ago at Card ington. According to the news dispatches t0 day, Church stated that the big airship was afire before it nosed into the ground. The R-101 was almost end for end and pointing toward the earth when it caught fire and a violent ex plosion threw the engineer to the ground.
